Elliot Wagner, O.M.D., L.Ac. has made acupuncture and Chinese medicine his passion and profession for 25 years. Since receiving his degree in acupuncture and herbal medicine from San Francisco's American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1985, Elliot has treated thousands of patients for chronic pain and illness and stress-related health problems - those problems that are most resistant to conventional medical treatment.

Perhaps most significantly, Elliot dedicated 14 years of his career to public healthcare, and provided over 30,000 treatments to patients while working in public health. In addition, he served as Director of San Francisco's Walden House Acupuncture Clinic, Director of the Tom Waddell Pain Clinic, and as Executive Director of California Acupuncture Resources.

His many years of practice have brought him a wealth of experience:

  • He uses acupuncture to effectively treat orthopedic and neurological problems. These include headaches and migraines, back pain and sciatica, post-surgical pain, pelvic pain, facial pain, Bell's palsy, trigeminal neuralgia, osteoarthritis, multiple sclerosis, peripheral neuropathy, and many other painful and disabling health conditions.
  • He has many years of experience in wellness practice - taking care of people to help ensure good health and wellbeing throughout their life. Treatments including fertility enhancement, strengthening and improving patients' overall health, and immune enhancement.
  • His treatments are extremely helpful in improving health in chronic, manageable illness, including fibromyalgia, diabetes, asthma, and HIV/AIDS.
  • Elliot has found that many behavioral, mental and emotional problems respond dramatically to acupuncture and herbal treatment, including insomnia, depression, and anxiety disorder.
  • Based on his experience and training at British Columbia's Victoria Pain Clinic, he developed Deep Release, a powerful application of acupuncture designed to relieve symptoms of chronic pain and stress from deep-seated painful memory or trauma. It plays an important role in his practice today.

Elliot has been a faculty member of the college from which he graduated, a speaker at health conferences nationwide, and the author of articles for a number of respected journals and magazines. He has been honored for his dedication to his patients and his profession with certificates of appreciation and many testimonials from both patients and colleagues.

A firm believer in a lifetime of learning, Elliot is as avid a student as he is a teacher. He spent two years studying orthopedic acupuncture with two of the country's foremost teachers. He received his Doctorate in Oriental Medicine in 2007. In 2001 he joined Dr. Patch Adams and the Gesundheit Institute on a trip to Russia to entertain kids in orphanages and pediatric hospitals.
